چکیده

Stereo echo cancellation requires a fast converging adaptive algorithm because the stereo input signals are highly cross correlated and the convergence rate of the misalignment is slow even after preprocessing for unique identification of stereo echo paths. To speed up the convergence, we propose enhancing the contribution of the decorrelated components in the preprocessed input-signal vector to adaptive updates. The adaptive filter coefficients are updated on the basis of either a single or multiple past enhanced input-signal vectors. For a single-vector update, we show how this enhancement improves the convergence rate by analyzing the behavior of the filter coefficient error in the mean. For a two-past-vector update, simulation showed that the proposed enhancement leads to a faster decrease in misalignment than the corresponding conventional second-order affine projection algorithm while computational complexities are almost the same. r 2005 Elsevier B.V. The Use of Partial Update Schemes to Reduce Inter-channel Coherence in Adaptive Stereophonic Acoustic Echo Cancellation

The use of partial update adaptive filters for stereophonic acoustic echo cancellation is investigated. The MMax-NLMS algorithm is studied in this context and its inherent robustness to subsampling of the tap-input vector is demonstrated. It is proposed to employ the subsampling of the tap input vector, that is intrinsic to partial update schemes, to decorrelate the two tap-input vectors of the...

روشی نو برای حذف پژواک آکوستیکی استریو با استفاده از ساختار مبتنی بر الگوریتم وفقی با ورودی برش یافته

Stereophonic acoustic echo cancellation is one of the expanding areas in the field of the speech/multimedia communication systems. In a conventional stereophonic acoustic echo canceller, working in a stereo communication system, the existence of the strong cross-correlation between the input signals to the two channels has the problem of the low convergence speed of the weights of the adaptive ...

Adaptive-Filtering-Based Algorithm for Impulsive Noise Cancellation from ECG Signal

Suppression of noise and artifacts is a necessary step in biomedical data processing. Adaptive filtering is known as useful method to overcome this problem. Among various contaminants, there are some situations such as electrical activities of muscles contribute to impulsive noise. This paper deals with modeling real-life muscle noise with α-stable probability distribution and adaptive filterin...

Adaptive Filtering Algorithm Enhancing Decorrelated Additive Signals for Stereo Echo Cancellation

The strong inter-channel cross correlation between stereo received signals creates a problem of non-unique solutions for stereo echo cancellation. To avoid this problem, the addition of inaudible non-linearly filtered received signals to themselves was proposed. However, the convergence of misalignment is still slow even when the affine projection algorithm is used, since strong inter-channel c...

Application of the leaky extended LMS (XLMS) algorithm in stereophonic acoustic echo cancellation

Analysis of the leaky least mean square (LMS) adaptive algorithm has justified the use of a leakage factor in many applications. In this work, a similar leakage factor is introduced in the two-channel LMS and the extended LMS (XLMS) algorithms for use in stereophonic acoustic echo cancellation. This is compared with the alternative of adding random white noise to the input stereo signals. Simul...
